Easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials do it yourself (DIY) videos to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers and zero turn mowers.

I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.

Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, zero turn mower, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.

My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.

I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.

    I have a question?
Is running non- ethanol high octane fuel ok for small air cooled engines?
I’ve mixed theories about this can you elaborate your thoughts on this matter? Thanks!

17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

My Craftsman T240 Turn Tight tractor had the Kohler 7000 series 22 horsepower 725cc V Twin engine 3 year unlimited hours warranty…can’t believe how people can be this stupid not to put oil in a engine

  6. Dr.Strange Nuts

John deere lawn and garden tractors have become garbage…if you want a real lawn/Garden tractor go with the Craftsman Turn Tight series..built like little tanks..

“And it’s also a good idea to drain the oil if there’s any left.”

If the owner hadn’t let the oil get so dirty and the level drop so low, this video probably would never have been made. 😉

Nice video Donny, I notice the original engine was a 21 HP, and the new replacement was a 19 HP, but it didn’t look like that had any affect on the replacement, How did you know that a motor with 2 HP less would be an easy swap ? Thanks

as fate would have it, i did an engine swap on a deere this summer. drive pulleys, idlers, belts lengths, etc. all changed. it was a very lengthy mess.

When I put a new Briggs engine in my Deere it came with different shaped wire connectors, but the wires were the same colour and quantity as old engine. I took the plastic cover off the top of the old engine to get to wires on stator etc and transferred the wires onto new engine. Worked perfectly. Hope this helps someone.

Great video Dony – I have a 90’s sabre by John Deere. Was used very little and stored inside. Engine needs work but everything else is mint.. this may be a solution 🧐

  17. Paul Attanasio

Just a couple of questions. 1. Should you now re-set the hour meter on the machine since its a new engine and can you and if so, how would you do it. 2. Could you have used the muffler that came on the new machine?

  18. Walter Beaver

Easy work for a thorough professional. Very informative, clear, and concise step by step information. Thankyou Sir.

  19. Greg Mitchell

I would’ve fitted the oil drain tube from the old engine prior to filling the new engine with oil
